The new FishEye wine commercial features my brother Rob.
You would have to know him and know that he was in the commercial to recognize him. I took the image on the left with my digital camera when the commercial aired on FoodTV. The commercial was broadcast in standard definition.
The footage was shot at
Laika where my brother works. An artist painted over the original footage to transform the scene. More about the campaign can be found at
San Francisco Business Times.
To see the clip go to the Laika/house>Reels>New Latest Spots. Look for the icon bordered in pink in the screen shot below.

A bit about the production of the spot. The opening is intended to imitate the oil painting style of the old masters and the animation is achieved with a technique known as "clay painting". "Clay painting" was pioneered by oscar winning animator Joan Gratz. In order to effectively animate the scene video reference footage was shot at Laika on the stop-motion stage. The five people pictured in the opening are all employees of Laika, dressed in costume. Each character was inspired and based on a figure in several old master paintings. The rest of the spot is intended to imitate the modern art asthetic of Roy Lichtenstein and was animated by Aaron Sorenson, who directed the spot.
